Lifter at the High Energy Amateur Science Convention 2006

In the foreground is a 'Lifter'. It is being held up there by 27,000 volts. It took nearly 50,000 volts to get it off the table.

What you can't see in the picture is that the lifter is putting off as much 'wind' as small box fan to the left of the frame, that is turned OFF!

Behind me is Richard Hull's Mark-IV Farnsworth-Hirsch Fusor. Everything in that picture is functional, the sign above my head means it; note my hands are in my pockets for safety!

Not visible in the picture, because it is behind the Fusor containment vessel, to my left is the small flask of Deuterium mounted to the wall that powers the fusion process.
